Alumnae and alumni from Columbia University (USA) are welcomed as special guests. New and returning LSE students are given a Send-Off before they leave for London.

The Masoala Rain Forest Dome is a gigantic biosphere bordering the Zurich Zoo, recently open to much public fanfare. On an area of around 10'000 m2 of parkland, an impressive snapshot of the famed Madagascan rain forest has been created. With our competent guide, we will be able to experience first hand the interaction between a great many animal species - such as lemurs, makis and boas - and a tropical plant world.

This event is kids-friendly. Kids of members and Columbia alums below the age of 16 attend for free, courtesy of the Association.

For families, the following is proposed:

  • During the whole afternoon, one partner visits with the kids the Zoo and the Zoohlino (the special pet zoo)
  • At 18:00, they are joined by the other partner for the tour of the rain forest.
  • From 19:30, a family dinner at the nearby inn.

Public Transport Information:

  • from the Bahnhofstrasse/Central Train Station with Tram 6 direction Zoo
  • from the Bellevue Place/Stadelhofen Train Station) with Tram 5 direction Kirche Fluntern, then hop on Tram 6 to the Zoo
